Before I was introduced to MonaVie and Team, I was a wreck. My normal diet consisted of 0-1 servings of fruit and/or vegetables–per week. I would consume soda by the 2-liter bottle daily, sometimes more. My finances were beginning to bottom out. My wife and I would fight almost daily. In fact, we separated at one point, for a period of six months, to work out our problems. On top of all of this, we would spend little to no time at all with our son who turned three in January of 2011. I know everything happens for a reason; God works in mysterious ways.
It was during a very bad day at my wife’s work (fast food manager) that MonaVie crossed our paths. It came wrapped up in a package named Brian. As we later found out, Brian lives in Kansas City, KS. About a three and a half to four hour drive from our home in St. Louis, MO. He was in our backyard for a seminar, and his caravan of partners decided they were craving a certain fast food restaurant. I walked in just shortly after they did. Brian had noticed the pain and frustration on my wife’s face, and decided he needed to make her day. We were approached by this man, two cans of EMV, and two business cards. He was in. That was the talk of the store for the night. Little did we know our life was about to change.
About a week later, I let this man into my home and he introduced us to everything that is MonaVie and Team. He had me hook-line-and-sinker. My wife, not so much.
Like I had pointed out earlier, my family life was in turmoil. When Brian suggested The Five Love Languages, to me, my immediate reaction was “Yeah, right! Me read? I haven’t read in years!” But, I picked it up and said, “One chapter. Then I can tell him I read it. He’ll never know.” I have read that book cover to cover twice now. Applying those principles really helps, too. Radical changes at home. I am blessed to have the family I have, and now I know how to show them every day! Finally, my finances are looking better, and slowly will get back to being manageable. And it all came down to one man on a business trip with a craving for a burger taking notice of an unhappy woman’s cry for help. Talk about thin threads.
